Welcome to the Belfast Royal Hotel, a true country hotel, where you will experience traditional country hospitality.
Here we experience no electricity shortages, load shedding, water cuts or cold showers. We still pamper you like they did in the old days.
The hotel opened its doors in 1873 for the exhausted travellers who arrived at the station. They were transported by royal coach to the warm hospitality of the hotel - a log fire and a hot meal. Those who slept over received hot water bottles, hot soup and hot chocolate. The brave among the travellers never said no to a glass of the finest Cape Sherry.
The modern, newly renovated hotel still offers splendid accommodation for the traveller through Mpumalanga and tourist, but offers more than merely a place to sleep.
The Belfast Royal Hotel also provides the visitor excellent cuisine, the Royal Spa, where the visitor is pampered and rejuvenated. Our Restaurant The Belfast Royal Hotel's kitchen offers basic cuisine that will satisfy most palates with a variety of dishes. These range from breakfasts, burgers and steaks, to enticing salads and sweets. The fare also includes pancakes, with a number of fillings.
During special occasions, special dishes are prepared to suit the occasion, be it traditional Irish dishes, Haggis or South African "Boerekos".
The A la carte menu is available in all the venues where drinks are served. We also have a special Bistro section on the menu. Please have a look to see which tantalizing dishes are available.
Picnic baskets are available if you wish to take it along on your day trip into the countryside, or perhaps on your hike to the Rapids. The kitchen closes at 21h00. The Royal Theatre is an ideal conference venue, seating some 100 delegates, while it transforms into a real life theatre once a month with shows by contemporary South African artists.
